My Podiatrist recommended I wear Vionic Sandals around the house for my particular foot condition diagnosed as Metatarsalgia. I can walk in them comfortably with no symptoms. They fit perfectly. When shopping for them on Amazon, I selected a few styles and close size matches.The Samoa style (in black) was my final choice. Typically I do not buy shoes online primarily because not all manufacturers size the same. Initially I ordered another style but when it arrived it didn't fit properly and I returned them. When an item that was ordered is being returned Amazon asks detailed questions. After explaining to the representative why I needed to return them, I asked, can I make a few choices and select any one of the few and return the others if the fit or the look that I want is not right. I wanted to avoid the ordering of one pair only and possibility of being inconvenienced should I need to return each time. I was assured that would be ok but I needed a descriptive answer as to why I did not select any particular item. I did just that, I then ordered and paid for 3 new pairs thinking at the least even if I liked 1 or 2 of them that would make my time worthwhile. I selected odd half sizes (one being the next size up of the first pair I had returned) and 2 different colors of the Samoa style which I liked the most. They arrived at work where I receive shipments daily for many people. All the major carriers deliver to our location. If I am not present another staff person is. I immediately tried on all three pairs to get the fit and look I wanted. Wearing clean socks and walking on a carpeted floor, I made my final selection.I called Amazon who then listened to my explanation why I was choosing to return two of the three items. Amazon advised that I request the carrier scan the returning parcel on pick up, and then sent me a Return Label which I printed out. Following Amazons instructions, I packed up the other two pairs putting them back inside their shoe boxes, placed them with the order description inside the original box , securely taped it shut with the Return Label on the outside of the box covering the original label, and set it aside for the carrier to pick up. It was a piece of cake. The whole process took me personally, maybe a half hour (not counting waiting for the carrier to pickup) Amazon had already prompted them to pick up during their next delivery. Sometimes the carriers are rushed and just deliver and grab returns and by requesting they scan immediately, this alerts Amazon who is tracking the process, that the parcel is then en route. Ideally it is best to always to be present when returns and deliveries are happening, but a large note on the returned parcel to scan it first can suffice. That or a photo of the prepared parcel protects the buyer too. The carrier is required to do this but they are often in a rush attempting to pospone that step with returns. Its all in real time. My refund for the items I returned was done very efficiently as a result of taking all these precautions.
