The merlot color was not a burgundy, but a bright jewel-toned purple. The shoes had a bright gold buckle and were gorgeous. Unfortunately, I have slightly wider feet (usually 7.5C/D) and these were just too narrow in the toe box to be comfortable, even when I sized up to an 8 (which usually works for me with Vionics that don't have wide widths available). Note that the buckle does adjust and you can make it looser, but it just wasn't enough. I was very sad to return these.Cute loafers. They are really cute on and the foot bed is Vionic comfortable. The 7 fit perfectly and I normally wear a 7. However, I've only been able to wear them twice, for short periods of time and both times they rub angry blisters on the back of by foot. Yesterday I wore them for about an hour. After I took them off the back of my foot is red, skin has peeled off and I can't wear any other shoe that's closed on the backside, such as tennis shoes. Not sure if others have had a similar problem, but this is frustrating because I love Vionic and spent a lot more $$ than I like on a pair of shoes I can't wear very long. I even tried putting blister gel pads inside the shoe to prevent them from rubbing and that didn't work. If I put the blister pads on my foot, they peel off when sliding my foot into the shoe.This style fits a bit snug compared to other Vionic styles., but the buckle over the top can be loosened. I did get a blister in the back of my achilles the first time from snug fit, but they are comfortable to wear now. When you first get them, maybe wear them around the house with some thick sock to wear them in. I love them despite the initial growing pains.Cute shoe. Great for going to church.These are super cute. I expected a more comfortable wear though. I wore them around the house for a few hours a day for a week before to try wearing them in before I wore to work. And still they were miserable to wear by end of day. My heels were tore up and bleeding. I still haven't worn them again because it was so bad. The leather or faux-leather maybe is designed with a very stiff piece at back. Not good. Other than that- they are cute & fit nice. I will keep them since I already had them a few weeks and now wore them out of the house but Im not sure if I can stand wearing them again!These are very cute shoes; however,they were kind of tight/narrow.Wow! So pleased with this shoe, the design different and youthful and most of all the Merlot color is beautiful. It's so pretty and the pictures just don't do it justice. Fits true to size and of course the support is exceptionally good. I bought the 8 for my daughter, wish I bought a pair for myself.however they did wear a sore spot but have been able to protect foot for future wearings and will keep them.
